Working with us from St Martin's French side

  • Euros, even when customers pay in dollars

    On the French side, the euro is the official currency, although the US dollar is widely accepted. Our prices are shown in euros, excluding taxes. You settle our invoices by SEPA bank transfer, as the French side belongs to the SEPA area.

  • No VAT, a local tax instead

    No VAT is charged on the French side of the island. The Collectivity levies its own turnover tax, the TGCA, at 4% on services. Your accountant will tell you whether it applies to our work.

  • EU data rules apply in full

    Saint Martin is an outermost region of the European Union, so the GDPR, the EU law on personal data, applies here. The CNIL, the French data protection authority, oversees it on the island.

  • No clock change on the island

    St Martin stays on Atlantic time all year. It is five hours behind Paris in the European winter and six hours behind in the European summer. Our booking calendar shows each slot in your own time.

Frequently asked questions

Saint Martin is part of France: which rules apply to my business?
On the French side, EU law applies, including the GDPR for personal data. Taxes follow the Collectivity's own system, with the TGCA instead of VAT. We take both into account in your quote and in what we build.
Is Saint Martin tax free? Will you charge VAT?
Not quite tax free. There is no VAT on the French side, but the Collectivity charges the TGCA, a 4% tax on services. Our quotes show prices excluding taxes, and your accountant will confirm whether the TGCA applies to our invoices.
Can I pay you in US dollars?
We invoice in euros, and you pay by SEPA bank transfer from your St Martin bank account. If another way of paying would suit you better, raise it during the free call.
My business is on the Dutch side (Sint Maarten): can you help?
These pages follow the rules of the French side: the euro, the TGCA and EU law. Sint Maarten has its own laws. If your business is based there, let us talk about it during the free call.
Can we do everything in English?
